He and his dad had gotten in to a fight on the morning of September 11th and somehow this had caused his dad to be running late. I don't remember how exactly it went down, but I remember it ended with his dad yelling at him that he was going to miss his flight that morning. I believe it was a business trip and there was also some concern that he might be fired or reprimanded at work. He did indeed miss his flight, which was the one that hit the pentagon. I hate to say everything happens for a reason, because that makes it seem like there was a reason for those who died as well, and I don't believe that.
