Welcome!

Welcome to a piece of our sweet journey of life. This blog is about our family life-- my husband, my type 1 diabetic seventh grader, my spunky fifth grader, my second grader little girl, and myself! Enjoy!

Hello, February

Time escaped me again. To catch up, I'll do a photo recap of January & the first half of February.

We've had some cool sunrises. This one looked like the sky was divided into sections.

Avery lost a tooth!

We had one day of (minimal) snow flurries. My kids took advantage as much as they could!

Aaron & I love to take our dogs on a walk in the evenings. He's trained them to "heel" on his heels.

Avery earned a free personal pizza for her grades, so Aaron & I ordered some other ones for the rest of us and we had a movie night to watch The Wild Robot (so cute!).

Since Noah's birthday weekend was so cold, we picked a nicer weekend to take him to Auburn and eat lunch & play mini golf (his choices!) It was such a fun day!

Avery had dance photos one weekend & she was trying on her gemmed-out jazz shoes the night before!

"Special Snack" at school means crazy colored candy.

I love to capture moments of their daddy daughter times.

My sister-in-law gave me a Woobles crochet kit & I LOVED working on it! The kids loved watching & helping. This is our Labrador Wooble that Avery named Leo (the package calls it Buster).

Speaking of Labradors...  our Labrador/Rhodesian Ridgebacks are goofy... and also photogenic. Depends on the day. And the dog.

After school, my kiddos love to enjoy a snack & watch a show at my parents' house.

And that's a life update through photos!

Noah is 11!

Noah turned 11 years old on Thursday! He opted for no party this year and decided he just wanted to pick out a few things to do as a family. He chose BBQ meatballs and blackberries for dinner. Grandparents came over for chocolate chess pie and presents (and of course a scavenger hunt!) after dinner. He had a great night and enjoyed his special evening.

His scavenger hunt was made of 11 questions and he LOVED it! His big present was dirtbike clothes and I only got one picture as he found his present.

On Friday it was potential icy roads so our county did a virtual day which meant the kiddos were able to stay home! Aaron worked from home, and it was such a treat to have everyone here all day. Noah tried on his camo shirt!

Today our plans were to go out to lunch in Auburn and then play mini golf. But it was too cold for outdoor games (high in upper 30s, low 40s) and some roads we'd have to travel might have been icy so we told him we'll go on the next weekend possible.

He chose our special snack today that we will enjoy during the opening race of Supercross tonight (dirtbike racing) and he is pumped about that!

Noah,

You are sweet, funny, spunky, literal, and joyous. You have taken to dirtbike riding so well and enjoy any opportunity you can go practice. Police cars still hold a special place in your heart and this brings me great joy. You are a snacker and you still prefer savory things over sweet. You love pickles and olives and are increasing your spice tolerance. It's a bit of a challenge sometimes to get you to think about what you'd like without worrying what others would want instead, because you are so kind hearted. You definitely enjoy being outside a lot and your imagination and ability to self entertain is strong! We've been working out as a family and it's so fun to see your enthusiasm each night as we go through the exercises. You are a jokester sometimes and love to creep up on me in the mornings as a fun way to let me know you're awake! It's so fun to see you grow & mature and start catching onto jokes and enjoy the shows your dad and I like and spend time with us and play games, etc. You are a treasure, Noah! I love you so much! Continue to seek Jesus earnestly and always.

I love you!

Love, Mom
